Fred Keup

Fred Keup, who owned Keup Motors with his brother, passed away June 29.

With his family by his side, Keup died from injuries suffered during a fall. He was 88.

Keup and his brother, Paul, operated Keup Motors in downtown Belle Plaine. They took it over from their father, Fred Keup Sr. in 1967 and operated it until 2003 when they sold it to Lupient Auto Group. Keup Motors is the forerunner to Matt Saxe Chevrolet Buick today. Paul Keup passed away in the summer of 2009.

Visitation is Sunday, 3 to 7 p.m. at Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. A memorial Mass is at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church.
